Ethical Scenario 30
You work at a practice and notice marketing posters on the wall offering whitening and a dental plan which offers free hygiene appointments for one year on subscribing. Patients begin to subscribe and you notice that the offers are not being fulfilled. How would you respond to this?
Excellent Candidate response
- As a dentist of the practice, you have a duty to flag this up with the marketing team or the practice manager.
- It is wrong to have deceptive marketing strategies or posters which are misleading.
- Patients should not be made to subscribe under false offers. This can fall under fraudulent practice.
- This should be discussed in a team meeting or with the team involved with the marketing and advertising to ensure it is amended or necessary refunds are made.
