GP Stage 3 Written Prioritisation Exercise 27
You are a surgical SHO and have the following five jobs which need to be addressed before the end of your shift in one hour.
A. The ward sister has called you about a 17 year old female who was admitted one week ago with unexplained abdominal pain and was found to have normal imaging and an unremarkable diagnostic laparoscopy, is reporting left sided chest pain.
B. Jenny, a staff nurse has asked you to review a 35 year old female, who is day one post laparoscopic cholecystectomy is reporting excruciating abdominal pain increasing in severity over the last two hours.
C. Helena, the daughter of Mr Matthews who was admitted with pancreatitis would like an update on her father's condition. Mr Matthews has deteriorated over the last 24 hours, and is likely to require HDU/ITU admission.
D. Geoffrey, the surgical FY1 has asked for your assistance in re-catheterising a patient who has failed a TWOC (trial without catheter).
E. The theatre manager has bleeped you on the request of your registrar, requesting that you attend theatres immediately to assist with a gastric bypass. The consultant and registrar are presently scrubbing.
