Interview Preparation and Clinics

At BlackStone Tutors, we have a number of specialists with expert knowledge of the interview process having been on a number of university interview panels. They are able to offer invaluable advice to candidates as well as carry out mock interviews. Interview practice is frequently neglected at schools and colleges often due to resource constraints. However, interviewers can see a sharp contrast between those students who have had prior practice and those who are experiencing the process for the very first time.

We endeavour to:
  • Familiarise you or your child with the interview process;
  • Make you or your child aware of the questions most frequently posed to candidates by utilising our extensive data-bank of past questions
  • Offer specialist guidance on the non- verbal cues which interviewers often pick-up through facilitating mock interviews.

This is usually conducted as one to one sessions to ensure that all feedback is tailored and personalised. Details of our services currently available can be found below.

Testimonials

'Abbas was a kind and approachable person from the off. He took control of the session, developed a structure to ensure that the time was well spent, whilst ensuring I was happy with the way it would work and understood it. He was extremely good at pushing me as much as possible - he wasn't overly aggressive but wouldn't let me sit on the fence if I was indecisive. The session was extremely useful: he was honest with feedback, was constructive and  ensured that I truly understood how to improve. He  questioned me on several points from my Personal Statement and also current affairs. He gave tips on how to structure my answers to possible interview questions. Overall his manner was great and I came out of the session buzzing with all the things I learnt. I gained a sense of confidence and a clear idea of what I could do to prepare for interviews now. I would recommend Abbas to anyone, his interview experience was clear with regards to knowing about interviews and what to do/not and he instantly gained my trust and respect.'
Tom Chandy (Medical Student, Cardiff University)

'Preparation assistance with Soham was really helpful, I really appreciate it. My interview was better than what I expected. Thank you!'
Ipek Ege Gurel (Medical Student, University College London)

'She is more confident now and that was helpful and that was what she needed . She was so relaxed when she spoke to Annabel and that made Annabel feel more at ease.'
Nathalie Yip (Parent of Annabel Yip; Medical Student, King's College London)
