General Interview Information

​Marquette provides the following information on the characteristics and attributes required to succeed in its admissions process.
​
Candidates and students must have sufficient motor functions to execute movements reasonably required to provide general care and treatment to patients within an acceptable amount of time. They must have the ability to acquire a defined level of required information as presented through demonstrations and experiences in the basic and dental sciences. They must be able to observe a patient accurately, at a distance and close at hand, and observe and appreciate auditory and non-verbal communications when performing dental operations or administering medications.They must be able to communicate effectively and sensitively with patients and/or their guardian. They must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently with all members of the healthcare team, orally and in writing. They must be able to measure, calculate, reason, analyze, integrate, and synthesize.They must possess the emotional health required for full utilization of his or her intellectual abilities, the exercise of good judgment, maintenance of patient confidentiality, the prompt completion of all responsibilities attendant to the diagnosis and care of patients, and the development of mature, sensitive and effective relationships with patients.
